Fadi,

I see that the website has been updated with pictures of a reversing camera installed in a Territory. Any comments on why it's placed in the lower rear door rather than elsewhere, say in the panel below the door, to avoid having to run wiring through the door itself?

I'm considering getting one myself and just want to benefit from your placement research

Thanks

Hi Raptor

We found it was the best place to mount, where the camera fits nicely and still have bit of room to tilt it up or down depending on the customers request, also fitment wise very easy and neat. Also we can make a mod. where the camera pic can be displayed all the time by flicking a switch, the reason for it, some Territories owners have their territory fully loaded at the back, and rearview mirror visbility is zero, therefor by flicking the switch they can view who or what is behind them if needed

Cheers

Hi Fadi, that sounds cool. I wonder what the legalities are with using the camera as your rear view "mirror" and removing the mirror itself?
In the case of a BA sedan, where would the reverse camera mount?

Hi

Reverse camera is just an added safety, where it prevents hitting something or someone while u reversing, some objects you cant see with the review mirror, and other thing u cant view with camera, so they both needed.

on a ba falcon the camera is mounted in centre of the bumper bar, where we drill a little hole and mounted there.

we do actually supply a reverse camera kit where you can view the picture on the rear view mirror. once u select reverse half of the review mirror turns to picture.

cheers

mate can you supply a pic of the camera in a BA/F bumper, as i'm considering getting your system installed, but worried the camera may intrude too much into the look of the car, being bright green.

also a little off thread topic, i'm wanting the dvd on ICC screen installed too, how much will this be as i already have tha aux booster kit installed. I want the dvd player mounted in the tissue box holder area, but still retain the 'power source' socket. Do the DVD player and reverse camera work in harmony ?

If you can provide an answer to these questions along with a price for the dvd player & reverse camera fully installed (independent pricing) that would be fantastic.

cheers,

chris.

I have a BF GT-P. How big is this camera? Not real interested in drilling the bumper but was thinking about the lower mesh grill either behind it or through one of the gaps if the camera is small enough. Would this be possible?

Pretty keen on adding DVD to the centre screen and the reverse feature. Would need to install the DVD under the passenger seat though because the centre console is already taken. How much am I looking at and how much of the car need to be pulled to pieces?

Hi

The best thing to do is to email me directly fadi@asllogistics.com This way i can email you instructions/file on what is needed to attempt the fitment, or we do deal with an installer in tasmania if you are intrested. Regarding price you are looking around $1100.00 for the package, reverse camera and dvd.

Cheers

Oh I am interested alright. Spent half a day with alpine in Launceston and even with being charged $250 for installation I am still looking at double.

Email on the way

Hi Fadi

I am running the Alpine hub, and find it annoying that the reverse camera wont come up unless the hub is on.

Any way of running this camera so that it switches both with the hub on and off?

Do you sell the camera separate?

Could you forward the specs on the camera?

I assume it has a wide-angle lense and image reversal, but does it also have IR for night vision?

Fadi, do you have any pictures of the camera installed onto a Falcon ute? I'd like to see how it looks from the tailgate and up close

Sorry, I forget to mention my car is a BF Ute.

I hear your reverse kit is fantastic, but my greatest concern is I don't want to drill/cut into the bumper at all to mount the camera.

I found this little doosy on eBay; it allows you to pull out one of the number plate lights and this camera holder sits in its place... don't suppose you would have anything similar?
