Surely Ford Oz is sitting on some kind of secrets to be revealed in the near future.
I am lost with all the platforms now and what is from what.
You have American Ranger, our New Ranger next year and Bronco. What is based off what and how modified are they from each other.

American Ranger is a placeholder based the final refresh or Gen 1 T6. Bronco is the first vehicle
on next Gen T6 and opens up the field for next Gen Ranger global and North America. After that,
there's Amarok and Everest to come.

we lost all the powertrain work to them last year, and now they are crapping themselves over the complexity. For them a complex program has 4x4 and 4x2 and maybe some Canadian emissions work as well as 50 States. they simply cannot compute how many powertrain combinations and emissions levels T6 has

Good, the only way that Ford and the suits learn lessons is when a foul up costs them billions,
they're slowly clawing back work thinking scales of economy but their people are fundamentally
lacking the design maturity to handle important sections of T6, they just don't know enough.

An Everest with some Bronco bits and a 2.7 ecoboost might be the most we can hope for.

It’s not on the current Ranger platform. It will share the platform with the 2022 Ranger. Even then, it’s going to have different suspension. Other than the frame, what else is the same?

Exactly, we haven’t got a clue of how much change is coming to Ranger,
it’s going to be a lot more than just the same truck with a fresh body.
I see a lot of potential for Ranger and Everest with Bronco suspension
and big wheels, even the add on packs to customise them at dealers
before delivery. All kinds of stuff buyers would drool over......

Does this all mean that the vehicle is really a Brumby and not a Bronco with the Australian content.

Not behd at all. I'd own one. However we have more of a chance of getting a V8 Ranger over any Bronco.

i really wish we'd been allowed to go to market with some of the code names we have used over the years. There have been some really iconic Aussie names we could have had on the back of our cars

Made me think what is the difference between a Mustang and a Bronco? Aren't they both just wild horses?

According to this definition, all Mustangs are Broncos, but not all Broncos are Mustangs

So I am guessing we have to wait to see how close the Everest is to the Bronco.
Factory fitted 35" wheels and a slight lift would be a cool option.
People like to do these things but having them done from the factory gets around issues with the vehicle electronics, speedo and legals ect.

Goodyear To Remove ‘Wrangler’ Logo From 2021 Bronco Tires
by Brett Foote
July 16, 2020, 10:44 am

It’s not exactly a secret that the 2021 Ford Bronco is a direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, and easily its biggest threat to date. And Ford specifically designed the new Bronco not just to compete with the Wrangler, but to completely annihilate it in every conceivable way. So when it came time to select rubber for this rugged off-road utility, Ford simply couldn’t have Bronco tires that say “Wrangler” on them.

And so, the automaker simply asked Goodyear to remove the Wrangler name from the outside of its popular line of tires, as Ford spokesman Sam Schembari explained to Motor 1. “[The Wrangler name] will be removed from the Goodyear’s side wall on the outboard side,” Schembari said. “Bronco Customers will not see it unless their tires are off the vehicle and the inboard side is visible.”

That means yes, the Wrangler name will still be printed on the inside of the Bronco tires. According to Schembari, this is because Wrangler is “still part of [Goodyear’s] aftermarket branding.” What’s particularly interesting about this little detail to us is the fact that right now, Ford isn’t even calling these tires Wranglers. In the official Bronco specifications sheet, it refers to them as Goodyear “Territory” tires. However, the press photos released thus far clearly show Goodyear Wrangler tires installed on various Broncos.

These Goodyear Wranglers that aren’t Wranglers and perhaps Territory and/or Wrangler tires will be available on the Bronco Badlands, Wildtrak, First Edition, and other Bronco models equipped with the Sasquatch package in either a 33 inch 285/70R17 size as an option for the Badlands, or in a standard 35 inch 315/70R17 size for the Wildtrak, First Edition, and Sasquatch Broncos.

For those that simply can’t stand the idea of Wrangler being printed anywhere on their Bronco, there are other options, of course. The Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks models come equipped with Bridgestone Dueler rubber, the Black Diamond with General Grabbers, and the Badlands with standard BFGoodrich K02 all-terrains.

Why Ford didn’t just stick with one manufacturer or go with BFGoodrich for all of its off-road trim levels and packages is a mystery, but we’re sure there’s a compelling reason behind the curious decision.

Would've loved a Everest Raptor but the engine has always been a let down with the Everest. Too much weight for the engine.

Be interesting on the next gen Everest. Hopefully they make them a little wider and offer a more aggressive wheel/tyre/engine package than the current series.

Bronco towing capacity is a little lacking at only 2,200lbs (barely a tonne!).

Bronco sport has 2000lbs tow capacity.
2 and 4 door has 3500lbs

Went off the Ford.com website that had it listed at 2200lbs. They seem to have updated it today! Yesterday it was listed as an 8 speed auto as well!

Still, 3500lbs isn't much either if people wanted to tow a camper. It's competitor in Jeep is 3300lbs (1497kg) and 5500 (2495 kg)

to be quite honest, Yanks simply don't tow with anything other than full size trucks, so this isn't going to harms sales in any way, shape, or form

Was thinking more from a global appeal given there are a few countries that might get the Bronco that don't get the F series. But in their primary market, you'd be right in the assertion.

If it's like the F series then the Ecoboost V6 would be more popular than the V8. The V8 is no longer the go to choice anymore.
