Default block damage, can it be welded up?

pictured below is my KLZE block at the water pump, as you can see somethings gone through the cooling system and torn the ends off where the fins would normally meet the walls, im assuming this has and will greatly reduce my cooling ability as flow will be reduced so i want to fix it as best as possible, i am currently rebuilding the block and flushing everything (rad etc) so whatever caused it will be gone.

i dont think theres a silicone or metal glue that will hold given the forces that would be exerted in that area, its an all aluminum-alloy block so i would like to weld it if at all possible?

this isnt a particular car related thread so feel free to post your opinions on what i should do. (didnt know if there was a "technical" section that would be better for this as im new to the forum and couldn't find one).

No way silicone or glue would hold that. It can be weld up for sure but the thing is, when the block gets red hot, will it affect the block shape in anyway? as its an alloy block unless it is done professionally. We use lot of gear boxes and transmissions in our workshop with holes in the housing and they were welded up somehow with the similar metal.
