howdy mate.

i run a 03 speedmaster 5 colour but we are in the process of installing a komori 10 colour perfect. first in s.a. to have a 10 colour. that will make 2 komori's and 2 heidelbergs. the 2 heidelberg's are both 102's with the other one being a 6 colour perfect (4 over 2) and the komori we have already is a 5 colour 72.

i'm in the box seat to run the 10 colour when its up and going next year. sounds like fun.

not exactly a career for those affected by stress though. the young feller that works opposite me is only early 20's and going grey. always running around like a headless chook.

Yeah I was on that road when I had to bypass the Walker due to the road block. Was wondering what was going on till I saw it in the news. Good to see you had it under control.

4th year Mechanical Fitter, Working on boats ATM 50 meters up to 120 meters.

Had a gut full of the marine industry now, Got a few mates who are working as fitters in mining ATM, think i will head in that direction as well, being in the Bush don't bother me and it's easer to work long hours in the middle of Nowhere than it is in the City.

Wouldn't mind getting into the Heavy Diesel stuff as well, don't know how I would go thou as my hands on Diesel exspirance is limited.

Strewth guys, the big flash ones aye? I work for a Printing company basically doing general laybour. It's a small outfit, I'm not up to scratch on the lingo but our biggest machine is a old 2 colour Heidelberg MOZ.

I do all the preflight checks on the pdfs, lay them up and operate an imagesetter/processor for outputting to film. I also do a fair bit of finishing work like guillotining and collating etc and then send all the jobs out.
I could never do printing for the stress factor, I'm all nerves just doing what I do.
There's no future in what I'm doing and I'm sick of it so I'm going the other end of the scale to give studying graphic design a shot.

Another one in the print industry here, in the office though got off the factory floor to become a print estimator... industry is just as stressful in the offices though. I can say I like what I do even though work never ends

We're installing a brand spankers Heidelberg 10 colour perfector as we speak, stunning piece of machinery it is too. Goes with a 3 other 5 colour perfecting presses (CD102, SM102, SM74) plus in house bindery so not exactly a small plant

working with film is a thing of the past in our place and at the pointy end of the market. all ctp now (computer to plate). don't even need a spanner on the machine any more either. hardly a need to get dirty nowadays.

I work at McDonalds after school and on weekends
(hours vary from 5am-midnight) and been there for 2 and a half years and soon starting as a sales-assistant at Dick Smith and keeping the job at McDonalds. Whilst completing Yr11. McDonalds is good because its fast paced and there is a good social side there and sometimes ya get free food and all the time its 20% off everything at any store in Australia and 50% before and after you work and you can basically transfer in any store in Australia and still know what your doing. but on the down side, somedays it gets so stressful everyone feels like walking out and the customers get realllllllly angry.
