Cav, I bought the same 'FMTT' and noticed that it sounds like shiiite and distorted when I turned the volume up on the factory unit too.
What you need to do is: the dial on the FMTT is a volume control as well. Turn it and you will see a volume bar on the extra small screen it has, appear. I have mine turned down to a little over half and haven't had any distortion since. I would hate to think that people are missing out on your talent singing your favourite C&W songs.

I think The Beast is meaning press RESET for the fuel average display. If you haven't reset it the car will continue calculating your usage using the history it has already stored in its memory bank. Resetting it would give you a clearer indicator of your current fuel use.

Thanks mate, I'll ignore you advice because you is a Queenslander, but nuthin' personal OK?

I have also found that having about 80% volume on the input device rather than 100% also helps.

Not a bad unit for $23 even though I put **** on it.

I've decided to put off the purchase of a new head unit as it is OK at the moment.

BTW I am full of BS about the fuel consumption, and I know youse Queenslander guys wouldn't know that.

It's bin a while since I posted a pic of the old girl.

She gets a day off tomorrow and then she gets a wheel alignment at lunchtime on Friday.

I'll have to take note of the speedo to check to see if he goes cruisin' for chicks

I've already tried that caper, the inmates would recognise my car and dob him in (after they have had their way with him)

Gee what I may do is hook up my $59 dash cam just to see if they turn it off.

Hey Cav, loving the write up.

Is your aerial still busted? I brought a Fairlane for a few parts and it is still in tact, just unsure if it's working. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to chuck a battery in and test it.

If it is working, would you want it?

The busted aerial would not have anything to do with radio reception, besides the the car is now set up for country and western! Now, wheel alignment. Why bother Cav? Looks great in the last pic you posted, but if you are worried just run a string line from the rear wheel to the front of the front wheel and then you can check for sure if you dont trust my advice.
Finally, before my battery goes flat on me, why would anyone want to name a car (or anything for that) a name that they cant remember let alone spell. Why not a easy name like Ralph? Cheers kent

M - A - T - E!

How did I miss your post, probably because I don't care what losers write.

Love to get it off you, I have to get to Wagga soon as I have two sons living there and one of them has his birthday this month.

Still recovering from surgery which should be clear in about a week, the cold mornings (and evenings) still knock me about a bit

Lemme know how you get on. Even if it doesn't work I may be able to breath some magic on it with my passion fists.

'Ralph' is a good name for a dog. Some loser poster on here mentioned a few posts back that he calls his dog 'Ralph.'

Are you suggesting that my fabulous AUII Ford Failane Sportsman is a dog, you Kent?

Maybe I'll just settle for 'Al'

Yep that'll do.

I can see me now cruisin' down the highway at 19.4l/100kms saying, "Let's ride, Al"

If you do happen to remember, just remember if it aint broke then dont fix it. That way less chance of buggering it (Al) up.

OK update on BIG AL

All work completed on the motor now. The new leads look nice with the red and blue. I couldn't get them on because they disappear into the bowels of the motor; so I let the mechanic do dat.

I checked his work. There was no blood so I guess he didn't skin his knuckles.

BTW, I have some good news ...

Fuel consumption did not increase over night while BIG AL was in the garage!

Thanks for the offer

I am prepared to give you something for the aerial.

How about a USB of honky tonk music?
