Default G'day all

Been lurking for a while and thought I better join in the fun.

My Name is Rob and i'm into classic Fords and I live in Perth. I own an original White 1978 XC 351 4 speed GS Falcon with only 225,000k on the clock and with original motor that starting to get a little tired.

Great place here.

Cheers

Hey guys! This is a pic of my beast:
SAM_1444 3.jpg
Known as The Soviet Tank, or by some as The Vacuum, because it picks up all the chicks

My Nanna and Poppa gave me my first car for free! But it's gonna cost me a fair bit to get it into roadworthy condition. I've already spent almost $700 on new tyres and rear brakes, and I replaced the driver side lock, (the door wouldn't close beforehand).

My aim is to get it into a really good mechanical working order. I figure that if I take care of it, it should take care of me. Currently though, the odometer doesn't work; it's stuck on ~278k km's. It's got a hyperactive right indicator, the "Red Bull Blinker". Plus some other things: idler arms/front shock absorbers worn, power steering box leaks, AC/power steering belts worn, plus a few other niggly things.

And along with getting it into a good working order, hopefully fuel efficiency/performance will come along with it.

Overall I just wanna tinker and learn. I'm studying engineering at the moment, but I get pretty obsessed with doing something hands-on seeing as I spend so much time in lecture theatres. I know I'll learn heaps here, and hopefully I can reciprocate one day

G'day all you Blue oval nutters out there. Names Dan and have just become a member of this site of awesome ford info. I have been an early Falcon man for as long as I can remember Coupes, Utes, PV'S, and now have my first XK wagon to fiddle with. Hence joining this forum. to find helpful tech info on my old girl. She's a completely original 08/62 XK, unrestored but does need a fair bit of work unfortunately. Will post some pics as I go if anyone would like to see.
Cheers and keep up the great posts. !!!

G'Day all

New member 09/05/2021

I have custody of a Ford F100 1978 cab chassis 2WD fitted with a 351C and 4 speed.

Basically factory stock condition with an aluminium drop side tray, airbag rear assist, Monroe gas shocks. Nothing else that I can see.
289k klms with a few issues to sort out.
It runs and drives OK.

Hello All,

I have just picked up a nice EL Auto XR6, near mint condition stock standard with low K's, so it will be good to see some tech knowledge and advice. 1st question of the rack is do these late EL XR6s come with a standard wiring loom connection to add cruise control straight on to ? ,I have found a connection plug where I think the Cruise Control Module connector should go, the car has ABS, Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to AFF, your best bet would be to ask in the Post Classic forum, someone there should be able to help.

G’day folks,
Took delivery of our new Ranger 2021.25 PXIII Super Cab/PU last month with pre-rego GVM upgrade and alloy tray fitted.
Being our first Ford 4WD we are keen to pick-up on any any tips and advice this forum provides.
We will take delivery of a new Slide-on Camper, hopefully by the end of May, do a few relatively local shake-down trips and then head north from Brisbane to do the big lap.
Looking forward to the opportunity to following-up this intro with a post seeking advice on a matter relating to the Ranger’s “exposed” rear lighting wiring loom.
Cheers

Howdy, I try to fix most cars, usually for m8s, I'm semi retired, was mechanic in the 70's. It's a past time now in my backyard, nothing special. Been around cars before I spat the dummy, remember my dads flat head ford prefect, and before that he had some old looking "al capone" era car, I remember he had to crank it using the crank tool to get it started, ,long long time ago, said he thinks it was a Ford.
Anyway, I'm here doing a m8s fuel pump on EF, wugger of a thing to get to that worm-drive over-grown hose clamp around the screw thing that uses a "special tool".
Car got towed to my place late at night, ( SA, suburbia ), back into a sloping downhill driveway.
It looks straight forward to remove and replace the pump, once I can unscrew a little bit that worm-drive clamp.
It's, ( worm-drive clamp) in a awkward position, not enough room to get a spanner, screwdriver or socket to loosen it just enough.
Signs show it's been replaced before, some of the plastic bits have been broken off, obviously they used a hammer n "chisel" to unscrew it all.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

So that's my intro and, gig for today.

Cheers and thanks for being here.

Hello Everyone. So nice to see a group of ford lovers i have driven a ford my whole life since i was 13 (except for my rebellious year of owning a holden) But i got my EA now and it is looking poor. I am waiting on parts and some nice eyecandy and new paint then it will be as good as i can get it myself a few problems taking the immobilizer out and replacing it with an alarm and also the stereo or the wires are faulty which has had me scratching my head for days but lets hope i will figure it out in the next few days before that parts start coming in.. only can do 1 thing at a time.

GDay GDay. Preeps, I’ve just recently purchased an 1987 ford bronco and decide to jump in here for an advice or Evan parts and all that stuff, looking also to see if an one can help with build dates as from what i have found I’m sure 3 month of 87 was last build month by looks but can’t confirm. Anyways its was fuel injected 4.9 by the looks but now been converted to carry by previous owner, rust yes standard with these old dinosaurs, but drives and runs like a dream 2 front guards and bonnet and som minor/ major cab works in usual spots and a full new tailgate required this ones a basket case now I’ve been able to open it
Look forward to chatting in regards with others out ther about issues and parts.
Cheers
Jase
Thanks for having Me
