Default Sound dampening solution for Fez

Folks, while the Fiesta is a fine car, one of its few weaknesses is road and/or engine noise, particularly at highway speed (100kph+). That of course is not a major problem as you can crank up the speaker volume, or perhaps even learn to enjoy the wonderful sound (or noise...)

But I like to know if anyone out there has decided to put in sound dampening solution (DIY perhaps). If so, would you like to please share what was done, cost & effectiveness?

Thank you very much.

Personally I think the tyres make a huge difference, after getting rid of the standard bridgestones, for a cheaper brand (in 17") has quietened things down considerably.

Scareybear thanks for the good suggestion. What tyres did you use that you found: (1) quiets things down, and (2) provides the same, if not better, road holding?

You also said a cheaper brand in 17" - you meant that your stock tyres/rim was replaced from the stock 15" to a 17" and hence you use that?? And correct me if I'm wrong but larger tyres can be one reason for increased road noise, isn't it?

You could do what I'm doing. :P Going for overkill I have 100sq foot of b-quiet ultimate coming from canada. I'm hoping that will kill of most of the road noise lol. But its not cheap was like over 450$ with shipping.
