Default mazda 323 cluster fit on kf laser?

My 90 kf Laser didnt have a tacho instrument cluster. I tried to find a tx3 for a straight swap but had trouble finding one anywhere.
Anyways, since mazda 323 is practically same car, i bought a 91 323 tacho cluster hoping for staight swap.
It works and is ok except now the dash lights are on in the car constantly and dont turn off even when the key is not in the ignition, and the gear shift lights dont work. The only time the lights go off is when i take the room fuse out.
Obviously the wiring isnt right.
Is there a way to fix this?????
Thanks.

No idea on how to fix your problem, but as you found out they can definately be swapped over.

I've got a 323 SS cluster in my TX3.

Problem SOLVED!
Found some live wires contacting from where original stereo used to be. I assume the original stereo was powered up from original cluster unit causing the thing to play up.
Anyway, its all perfect now. 323 cluster looks much nicer than original. Was lucky, its got pretty low k's too!
THanks.
