I hope you can get a test drive.......

Dealership can't even confirm if they'll actually get a demo model.

Most of this years dealer allocations are already sold - a repeat of the Mustang.

Rumour mill is that we will get approx. 200 to Australia in 2016.

My order is No.2 of 7 at my local dealer with No.1 being a large fleet customer - I hope staff don't use my RS to take personal test drives.

Pretty sure there would be a process in which you would need to be asked.

This car is going to be awesome. If I had the money, I'd definitely buy one.

Out of respect for any owner it should only be drive. By someone other than you for a few reasons,
1. The pre delivery
2. To fill your car with fuel
3. To detail the car
4. To put it in the showroom before you get there to pick it up!

I've worked for two Ford dealers. From my experience no one is out joyriding in customers cars.
I spent two years in pre delivery. Every car goes on a short test drive to make sure it drives ok and you usually get fuel at the same time. I was lucky enough to be there when the GT-F's were going out and was privileged enough to drive a few of them. Where I worked only had older guys doing pre delivery. There were no apprentices out there fanging customers cars. And it was just luck of the draw who got the go fast cars. I got lucky a lot.

After pre delivery the cars were all trucked down to the showroom for delivery to customers.

But that's just my experience. Other dealers may be different.

I just had the chance to drive the ecoboost mustang. I sure hope the RS has a little more character in it than that thing. They need to put some of the RS bark and pop into the mustang. It's way too beige for my liking.

As of Tuesday 25/1 Sinclair Ford had one left from this years allocation of 7 units.

Get in quick.

Its a shame that you will not be able to have sports exhaust in normal mode :(
Whats wrong with a button to toggle the exhaust on / off the same as the indicator stalk button for dampers...

Shouldn't be bad in sport mode - the dampers stay in normal mode whereas the awd system, steering and engine go into sport mode. I think sport mode will be my go to setting as a sports car should sound like a sports car.

Yep agreed. The issue will be the steering in Sport being too much harder for normal use. Time will tell, and I am looking fwd to finding out!

Man I want one. Watched a youtube review the other day and damn it looks good and goes great.

We picked up a brand new Focus Sport yesterday and I asked the dealer about the RS. They have been allocated two and both are sold. I think he said 300 units per year?

I'm still not 100% sure whether I get Ford Employee pricing for it either. I'm probably just dreaming :-(

Yep. Selling like hotcakes. I'm pretty sure that most of 2016 allocation is pre-sold. Only chance of discount is if you know the dealer OR have previously spent plenty of dollars with said dealer OR you're related to the dealer.

Rumoured numbers are 200 units this year and 300-400 in 2017.

And ....... I've moved up the chain - now in No.1 position at Sinclair Ford for an RS.

I called a dealer today, they have already pre-sold their RS allocation but say if I pay a deposit they will try to get more added. Would it be wise to run with that? Or should I ring around the dealers? Maybe country area dealers aren't taking quite as many orders from the ute crew?

Craig@Rockdale can you assist sir?

Cheers

We had 8 cars for 2016 and sold out donkeys ago and have been taking orders steadily since.

Reckon it's easily 2017 delivery dates from any dealer.

Does anyone have a firm price for just the basic White without the wheel option? The Ford website comes up with a price between $54 - $56K depending on what postcode i put in. (Vic cheaper, WA dearer) I don't have a local dealer as i live in Nth West WA but Magazines are quoting $50,990 drive away (don't know where they get their info). Should i just start ringing random dealers? $50k is pushing it - $55 puts it out of reach (well justification at least) I'd consider buying one interstate and driving it home. Done that before.

Yeah, That's roughly what i said i've already got, hence asking if someone had a FIRM price from a dealer and if they knew where the $50,990 drive away price i have seen quoted twice came from.
Cheers.

The $50,990 price you have seen is the recommended retail price before on road costs.
