It’s not T7. The platform is T6, it’s not a model code.

The platform code doesn’t change. Not until it’s a clean sheet design.

If it looks even remotely like the impression in this story and I can Get an XLT/Wildtrack with a V6 Diesel I am 100% purchasing one as a daily to replace my current daily... fingers crossed...

I'm not a fan from what I've seen so far, but Ford probably don't care as I'm not a dual-cab buyer anyway.

Wheels render from last year;

Render looks much better than the real deal, I think because it doesn't have that white/silver thing on the corner of the headlights and the angle is straight up and down rather than laid back.

I'm not a fan of the real deal, render looks tough AF though.

Needs more square, who cares about pedestrian safety, road is for cars lol

The second render is laughably bad. They just tacked an f 150 grille onto a current us model ranger.

The first picture isn’t a render though. From the wheels article posted at the time those pictures were taken, it was a real life styling clay. It’s not a render or computer generated image according to wheels.

That wasn't a render, Ford was asking that they be taken down.

Stupidly gave the game away too. Wheels were just guessing what it was until ford’s US lawyers stepped in and said remove these images of our property, or we will take legal action. If they had of stayed quiet people still would have been speculating which brand it was. All they did was confirm it was a Ford.

Is it just me or does anyone else thing that the horizontal line look across the front into the headlights looks awful.
You can sort of see the evolution from the original (as shown below) but it doesn't work for me. It looks out of of place and tacked on, like squinting through googles.

I really hope it was not the real thing in the render.

There’s a prototype driving around Geelong quite regularly these days. I’ve seen it more days than not over the last fortnight or so.

Apparently one of the RHD test cars has a 6 Cylinder turbo engine. If they throw that in the Raptor it would be a beast.

I'd consider one with that engine. Depending what they do with price of course.

Miss the thrill of spotting Aussie car prototypes on the road, I had a few images published over the years inc the VE2 facelift Commodore and the Everest mule made out of a Territory back end and Ranger front.

More testing and a KFC food stop...see Aussie engineers work on much smaller budgets than their US cousins

I remember that days when seeing Ford prototypes in Australia involved a certain 4 door sedan or ute. I remember my mind being blown by the sightings of BA, FG and FG-X Falcon's covered in camo. Although not the same, it's great to see vehicles being designed and tested in this country.

The durability drive program for the FG-X was one of the best things I have done. Being paid to drive around the state in camoed versions of the last ever Falcon was an honour.

Without giving away too much was your meal allowance KFC level (like the Ranger drivers) or Rockpool level..

There is no meal allowance for day trips.

Might be a different story for interstate runs though.
