A lot have gone. It is BMA not BHP (BMA is 50:50 BHP: Mitsubishi).
Quite a lot of staff sacked. One was my manager. Hell of a nice bloke

I'm sure they do. Still seems staggering. I just wonder what our real unemployment numbers are. Both parties have always fudged the figures.....

I don't think that means that 25,000 people are unemployed.
It could be that they just want to cash in on the wages paid there.

And most of those applicants would be folk just going through the motions to keep their dole cheques coming!............Whenever we advertise a position vacant we get near a hundred applicants, one time called five in for interview and not one turned up

Well a lot of companies here lie to get workers I have so far worked at CPC, Squirtys and also Monos. Had Downer, total connections and labour hire places chasing me for work too. Yeah everyone say oh its such a downturn here and I just think well head over east and you will see what a real downturn is as there is no work back there. But as of next Monday ill be out at FMR Investments (pretty sure its the Greenhills Mill) but its the first mine when heading from Coolgardie to Kal on the left side.

How are you guys going with new agreement? Ive heard many sites offering 20% less, which to be honest is inline with how the market is travelling but interesting to see how it all goes.

Lets face it, there is some fat in the industry but its taken a fair trimming lately.

For all the T&C's that i have been reminded about over the years .. the usual troll and some very questionable comments seem to be constantly left in place to incite personally abusive debate and bordering on internet bullying..

Not that it is anyone's business but i am currently a financial member of the CFMEU

Am i required to be in my new roll .. NO
