Followed the link which suggested that I make my first post.
I live in Perth northern suburbs. I purchased our second ford in December. Purchased the XR6 turbo with the luxury pack. It is a manual. I only drive manuals. Autos drive me insane.
I had a choice of 4 cars. Black, white, silver/grey or sunburst. I choose the sunburst colour. Thought it was awesome.
I have clocked up 7150km so far and it has been an awesome ride. Only thing I want to change are the brakes.

From driving the wife's ford focus to the xr6t, has been a humbling experience.

G'day all,
Spook is the name and I'm very new to forums of any topic. Its my 1st time ever in fact. I've had a quick look around and I think I'm gonna like this site. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction here. I want to post a question about front end shudder in my BA XR6. So which forum should I post to, and how/where do I see the replies, if any ?

Hi I'm Trevor and I have a 2008 BF RTV petrol ute which I have converted to gas, and I tow a 16ft caravan and have been having trouble with the temperature warning light coming on, on long climbs, it has had a larger radiator fitted and when the temp light is on the temp gauge shows below halfway. Could it be the transmission overheating? and should I fit another trannie cooler? Also I only get about 25ltrs per 100 on petrol and 30odd ltrs per hundred on gas when the van is on, is this average? and could it be improved by dyno tuning?

Default G'day from SOS Tools

Hello All,

As a matter of introduction, my first Ford was a 1971 XC which I bought with pocket money and lawn mowing money when I was 14. Cost me $600, I put a bit of effort into it and sold it for $2450, still 14. Then I got an Escort Ghia, only the 1.6 though.... Kind of glad... Dual webbers and fine tuning. Yum.

Looking for something again.

If anyone is looking for tools, feel free to check out my shop at sostools.com.au

Hi everyone, found this site n it looks cool.

Ive got a 78 xc gxl, 302 auto, nothing special but just a man toy to tinker with in the shed. Do want to over time bring it back to factory specs, so in time will be running a few quest your way.
hopefully can get a pic up soon, thanks

Howdy to all.
The articles I have read here so far are unbelievable.
So much knowledge, thanks to all the "smart people" who give answers to problems etc..
Now here I go, I am about to install a UHF CB in my BF Wagon, what is the best way to conect the power supply so that it it only works when the ignition is on?
I have worked out where to put the set and how to run the antenna cable in but where to conect the power supply without inducing interference has got me stumped.
Over to the experts!

There are a couple of feeds that come off the live side of the ignition circuit - in the BF there are a couple of spare fuseholders that you can connect to that should suit.

Cheers

Hello fellow ford fever suffers. I first became infected when I was 13 hanging out with the bigger lads and there 351's and 460's. Grew up with xa's, 250 2v cortina with all the handling goodies and then worked within engineering getting dirty doing conversions and general fab. Learnt a lot over the years and at first did not like all this new digital stuff but now have embraced it as a chance to learn again. at my first glance of the new Ba,Bf GT's i new that finally this sickening disease of stickers and glue was for the most part over with only a few lingering side affects left. Hale ye Ford Gt of present, once again we can pedal these masters of track and road with confidence and gusto.

Hey, found the site a couple of weeks ago while doing a bit of research on XBs.

I'm hopefully looking at getting an XB for my first car, but I'm undecided on if this is a good idea or not (Rust scares me), I will admit I am a little obsessed at the moment (I got overly excited the other day when I saw a restored XB GS Coupe driving the opposite way to me).

I'm still hoping that getting an XB to use as a daily driver is possible with the small amount of money I have to get my hands on one. Fingers crossed.

Very glad I've found these forums, I'm sure you'll see a lot of questions popping up from me!

Hi All,
I came across your site today while researching if anyone actualy had the colour that the factory painted the original Thompson power steering pumps fitted to my XC Cobra No 158. I think the pump is down o0n pressure (probably the relief I think as I can hear it cracking on minor load) and figure I would touch up the paint while it was out as I'm sure I'll mark it someway. I'm a car and then a Ford freak from way back and besides the original unrestored Cobra I've owned for about 31 years (about 88K original on the clock and was once my daily driver)I still own my first new Ford a XB GS 4 speed V8 Station wagon (drove it in the shed 26 years ago and hasn't been out since but in the next couple of months it will) and have another restored XC GXL V8 Coupe, an F350 Dually with a big block 460 (tow vehicle), a bigblock AC cobra of my owndesign under construction and a couple of Mercs including a V12 (see the picture forming) a couple of Porshes including a near mint 928 S4 (V8 of course which I've had for about 17 years) Over the years I've had most including Ferrari, DeTomaso, Jags naturall Gt's XR & XY, even a show winning restored XP coupe but still love the old Fords cause you can sort of work on them and I have lots of accumulated bits and a bit of fading knowledge and skills. I got the Cobra out of the shed after about 10 years off the road last week end and just took it for a drive, but wasn't happy about the parking effort so time to check out the pump.
Sorry to bore you all but I still love to play with cars and engineering, not as much as once, but ocassionaly I still get the urge.
Keep up the good work and now I know you are here I might even be able to help someone else out. Cheers

Gday Folks,
Been hunting Territory info and love the way ideas and information are shared! I have a ZD Fairlane (heavily modified), an XR wagon (XD under skin but currently retired since this came along...) and a 98 Courier dual cab on ViLPG.

Cars have taken a back seat for a while now, but still cant seem to let go of the ZD :-)

Been a Ford guy all along, and with the Territory in the sights, a while longer!
Cheers
