Default Help with 6-stacker issues in 2004 XR8 Ute.

I have a 2004 XR8 Ute that is 2 weeks out of warranty that has decided to stop recognising that i have cd's in the player.

The player says that there are no cd's in it and if i press the load button it says wait for a liuttle while then just turns back to radio.

HELP!!! ha ha

IT is six stack premium sound with the small screen as the large screens were not available in the ute when i bought it.

My local ford dealer says that there is no chance ford will help with warranty because it has finished and also says that these systems are quite pricey.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Travis

A bit rough that they won't recognise a warranty claim 2 weeks out. I have seen others recognised with the warranty out longer than that. Get in contact with Ford CRC and see what they have to say for themselves

if the ford dealer offered you a freechangeover you might as well change it, sounds like you have an intermitant problem. if not, just keep using till it stops again, it might last a while.

cheers

pushed the dealer as much as i could but still no dice.

Am i kidding myself that it is going to keep working now or what?

Cheers.

Maybe i should just get a price from you to upgrade to colour screen, get a service and install everything i need so i can add couple amps and sub and stuff. Think it might be time to bite the bullet!!!

when you are ready.

to upgrade to color screen $1100.00, this will give you a nre 6indash premium cd player with the color tft screen, Rca mod where it allows you to add sub/amps $220.00

My Son has just bought a 2004BA XR6 turbo with the factory unit ^stacker, and it started by eating a disc but showed the slot as empty. It has now stopped showing any disks as being in although it has 6 installed, and won't play any of them. Of course as a 2nd hand vehicle, and bought 2 weeks ago, the dealer (non ford) who sold the car won't want to know about it.
We are in NW WA. How hard is it to pull the unit for repair or replacement?
cheers

Default hey

it is UNBELIEVABLY easy - and i know absolutley NOTHING about cars!
i did it myself when i upgraded to the colour icc!
didnt want to pay for 160bucks again for something which took me 1.2 hour to install!!

p.s all used cars have a statutory 3 month warranty and they should fix it... you should really press them to fix it under warranty!
