Default Autotech fit Herrod Intercooler + Retune = 435rwkw!

Autotech have fitted the Herrod Intercooler to a customers car and made 435Rwkw.
Check out the video on their channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/autotechengineering

You could say it's the 535GT now

lol, it hardly looks as thought the car has ever been driven before. Can't see those rear tyres lasting long. I don't I think have ever seen anything that has made me want to buy one as much as that did :-)

Autotech have done pullies alone to their GT and it has made 410rwkw to give you an indication. However, as the graph line shows the intercooler improves torque right along the rev range as well as allowing repeated runs without heat soak.

Yeah, if you have the money it's easily the best car under 100K to buy now. Even Spiro's car at 410rwkw is crazy. So much torque and across such a wide band unlike the F6.

great stuff, the power just keeps getting better and better

what boost was it running for the 385rwkw and 435rwkw?

About 8lb of boost at 385rwkw without the intercooler. With the cooler it was about 12lb of boost at 435rwkw.

Hi All,

anyone know what sort of power gain you could expect from adding an intercooler and tuning it only?

cheers

Hi,
From stock you'd probably make 400rwkw. To go any further you'd need to change the injectors, exhaust and the pulleys to allow higher boost. It's recommended to do the lot as a package.
Please give Spiro a call in the office on 9897 1378 to discuss. You can drop by and he can show you what his personal car is like

Awesome results!!! To think tuning houses are getting numbers like this with a pretty new engine design, they've gotten this far so quick just imagine what they'll be getting in 2 years time!

This is a serious question of curiousty. being the air box in the 335 is sealed by the bonnet are there any power differences seen with the bonnet opened vs closed?

i know it`s been said before , but you lucky guys with the blown V8`s, ford oz really came through for you with a nice engine, and full marks to the tuner guys for enhancing a great package. nothing the matter with the turbo cars either, but this is a Miami thread.

It's been said before but hasn't been said enough; Ford/FPV have really spoiled us for choice.

It's a good time to pull this old gem out

Awesome work.

Keen to see results of these cars on the drag strip now. That cleared something up for me a bit as well. I thought the coolant lines would just be run off the radiator, but the kit comes with its own separate heat exchanger. Interested to see how that affects the rest of the underbonnet temps. It blocks a fair whack of the radiator how it sits and I was under the impression they get fairly hot even in standard form.

There's no notable heat issues with the kit installed. These cars are desiged to run under extreme heat conditions. On the T6 the APS kits we installed had a massive intercooler that practically blocked air flow to the radiator yet the car still ran cool at idle. Sure temps can get high under the bonnet but then all high horsepower cars have this issue when you throttle them.

Hi guys
Just an update this car ran 11.0@127mph last night at eastern creek.
Still a bit o adjustment to go with the car and it should make a 10. It certainly has the MPH just need to work on the launch,

So, if the car runs .01 of a second faster, does that mean it can never run again unless it gets a cage?

I believe that's the rules for WSID. I guess they have to put the limit somewhere. It's funny that Autotech have other falcons that have run 10s with lesser MPH.

Very professional video making our understanding simple. Great work
An extra 115rwkw (36%) over stock for a very reasonable investment
What is the % torque increase over stock I wonder?
