Finally the wipers arrived this morning. They look sturdy enough and will report back after fitting them. Too bloody cold and wet down here at the moment.

Finally got them fitted. My hands were too arthritic effected to do so myself. So waited until mate used my mobile mechanic to have his car serviced using my driveway.(Mech's van doesn't fit under his apartment carpark)

Anyway they were fitted and tested used the washer function and no problems.(Don't worry it will rain in Melb soon as this 23c won't last) They were quiet and seemed okay.

My mechanic said to keep my old blades and they can be cleaned up. Only faulty due to my poor Mondy being always kept outside.

Best news apart from him not charging me was from a test of my battery that showed it was on the way out.(I did know that) but his test convinced me to go on eBay and buy a Mondeo battery from Jefferson Ford just down the road. Bought it and picked it up and fitted within an hour from buying it online.

Price $180.56 less eBay coupon on checkout came to $162.50
Then with a seniors card they fitted it for under $50
All up driveaway with new genuine Ford battery for $210

Battery...
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-GENU...A/223056049814

Very pleased with myself.

The description says it's a Century battery, but that's much less than I paid. Well done!

I fitted a Century to my MB either 4 or 5 years ago. It's still going strong, and has started the car happily through the winter.

I left the receipt in the car and only remember seeing "Made in Korea" on the battery. Probably too late to see anything now after it has been installed but will get back if I find anything more. Oh and I remember seeing 24 month guarantee.

Finally got to try the wipers in real rain and they were good. Especially for the price but unknown how long they will last.

Still have the old ones as backup after I do a clean up of them.

Those cheapies are still going strong but won't recommend them as sometimes a small piece about middle of screen doesn't always wipe 100% That maybe is caused by fallen tree crap but never had that been an issue with Ford wipers. Might go back to them after a clean up????

Found these by accident and maybe worth a look at.(Not by me)

You can search for other models if interested.

As I've said before, Bosch blades from the UK including postage can be bought for under £25. If you prefer, genuine Ford are a few pounds extra. They take about a week by post.
