Smile Megadeth Concert @ QBH - Who's going???

We'll I've got my ticket! Woohoo. :sm_headba :

Thank goodness they're touring again for their awesome new album!
Funny how they're playing at a hotel...reliving old memories I guess.
Queensbridge Hotel sounds like a small venue, anyone been there?

I use to go regularly :hihi: And it's not small. There's upper and lower. I haven't been to QBH for maybe 3 years now though so not sure if it's still the same (as in music style etc) but back then - QBH was awesome! It pumped hardcore!! :dj:

So they're not coming to Melb???

Mustaine is a great musician.

Whats remarkable is that he had to learn to play guitar from SCRATCH after an injury, not only did he have to learn to play, he had to learn how to read sheet music for the first time, as previsouly he had learnt everything by ear.

I haven't heard the latest album..

must get it have a listen...

speaking of Concerts, Joe Satriani is in Melbourne this Friday night, i'm going, can't wait!!

Yeah I went and saw Steve Vai a couple of months back. It was awesome! He had fans blowing his hair back and the facial expressions to match the guitar...such a showman

I tell ya, you've gotta be vigilant to know when someone decides to tour...can miss out so easily!

JEM - Megadeth are playing Melb, Syd, Brisbane...and not sure what else.

Will see you there then!

Damn I wish they would throw a G3 concert here

As for Megadeth, as a life time metal lover, who grew up in the 80s with Slayer, Megadeth, Obituary and Metallica I'd love to go but am wondering if Mustane is worth my $67.............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'll wait for Anthrax. I hate the whole.... waaa, I couldn't handle being 2nd best to Metallica. Don't mind their music but I loathe Mustaine enough to not go.

Anthrax are also being backed by the 27th reforming of Mortal Sin! I got my tix.

Yes, this is their last tour. EVER. The reason the new ablum sounds like thier old stuff is because it is their old stuff. The album is a release of previously written material just to get it out there before the megadeth thing went away forever.

Dave mustaine asked david ellefson to reform megadeth but he declined as he didnt want to ge backwards. I think he was enjoying being in a band that was more a band instead of Dave Mustaine calling every shot.

Its very sad but this will be the last tour and album for megadeth. Dave mustaine may not stop playing though. He may start a side project again the likes of md.45 with lee ving. Who knows.

For sure. Original lineup and everything. I'm hoping to make that one too as Megadeth in Sydney are sold out :

Its not a particular album but more lots of stuff they had written over the years just sitting around that needed releasing.

As for album it compares to sound wise. Probably countdown or earlier.

Megadeth at QBH was the best concert ive ever seen. I cant express how mental the crowd was.
Dave was so in to it, he was loving it up there and so was the rest of the band. There was a flag that said "f#$K metallica, megadeth is No1" when Dave saw it he started laughing his head off.

Default Megadeth Thrashed QBH!!!

Last Night's Megadeth concert was fantastic! Cool venue too, almost straight out of Waynes World or something :P

They played all the songs I hoped for, the new ones "Scorpion, Kick the Chair, Die dead enough, Back in the Day", and the awesome classics "Symphony of destruction, A tout le monde, Trust, Hangar 18 and return to hangar, Darkest hour, Peace sells" and finished with the must have "Holy Wars"

The crowd were awesome, and mustaine was right into it! Man did he deliver. I was the guy with the spiked hair and the Jack Daniels tee if anyone saw me

Who else went last night?
