Default Hazard Light problem

I noticed this a few months ago - sometimes, while I'm driving, the hazard lights suddenly flash a few times for no reason. It usually happens when I go over a bump in the road, or a moderately uneven surface, which leads me to think it has something to do with the boot release mechanism, maybe a loose wire somewhere (as you all know, the hazard lights flash briefly when the boot is opened while the engine is running and the doors are unlocked). It's more an annoyance than a major problem, but I'd really like to have it looked at.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how I can fix it, short of going to the dealer?

I think it does it on purpose. It's like a safety feature on the car. Like when you brake suddenly the flash to warn the other people on the road. Not 100% sure. Hopefully some other Fiesta owners can give you information on this.

Mine don't EVER flash unless i press the button to turn them on. Take it to ford and complain, it will be fixed under warranty.

I know BMW do something with the hazards under hard braking, but it's only a new concept. Are there any warning lights on the dash that come on with it?

Do you have an alarm? Could be making contact with the door sensors....

I know the Fiesta hazards to not flash under hard braking, or when the rear hatch is opened with the engine running.

Get it checked under warranty

Does the hazard light switch feel funny when you use it? could be a faulty switch.

Hazards flash if the ABS kicks in on new Fiestas. Found that out on the demo model.

It's probably a fault in the wiring somewhere. I don't normally do any hard braking, and my LX isn't equipped with ABS. I'd better have it checked at the dealer.

Thanks, everyone.
