Default XR5 for the Dutton

Just had a look at the final entry list for the Dutton rally, someone has entered a new XR5 Focus.
It'll be interesting to see how it goes against the other turbo cars.. :

fyi it's wheels mag that entered the car so it means it should get some good coverage in the mag... will be interesting to see how it all stacks up.

I haven't checked where it finished in the results but you can imagine not a lot of time getting this baby ready for the event.
The colour was orange but I'm sure there's a fancy name for that.
Looked good, had plenty grip at the figure eight and witch's hats but wasn't hooking it round them with the handbrake like the suby and evo guys......

I've done a Google to see if I can get any info on how the XR5 went. Unfortunately the search came up with NOTHING.

I'd be grateful for any info.

Results are up http://www.duttonrally.com/results_nsw_06.htm

Downloads a 2.5meg zip file, check the last 2 or three files for the overall standings. Not shabby, beat a Golf GTi, got beaten by another, took a few big scalps, however not all drivers are equal.

Correction -

5th in class out of 13 in the Handicap Driver - Class

44th out of 86 in Handicap Driver overall

43rd out of 72 outright.

Not bad given some of the cars it beat, but again, there's probably a fair spread of driver talent/experience.

Exactly. Only a matter of time before someone tried the women drive joke. Proves the appeal of the car personally!! Good for them.
