Default LR Focus Fuel Consumption Figures

Hi Folks,

Just returned from a 1600km round trip from Sydney to Deniliquin via Wagga and a day trip to Echuca from Deniliquin.

The Car: LR Focus 2.0L Zetec Manual.

Ran the fuel and km figures through a spreadsheet and the average fuel consumption over the whole trip was 7.5L/100km (actual figures varied between 7.49 and 7.56).

Not bad going. No speeding but sat at the limits on each road so speeds varied between 80km/h up to 110km/h. Petrol was 95 or 98 RON.

This probably means stuff all to the rest of you :P but I was pretty happy to get that sort of mileage

Todd

That's great economy Todd. I got only slightly worse figures for my LR 2.0lt Auto (85kw engine) with all the luggage and 2 passengers on my trip to Adelaide last year.

You would have needed a Territory for that!!!! Im suprised it fitted in the focus ;)

Thats pretty impressive fuel economy... I dont think i could get it that low, but I havnt done an exclusively highway run in mine yet... Do you have Cruise control fitted?

the best i got was a 6.9l for the 100k mark when i drove from albury to sydney by myself.

i had a passenger on the way down and got 7.5l .

should travel alone more often.

I average 7.4/100km on the highway at 100/110 average speeds. Right on the money.

Out of interest, my latest tank averaged 9.6/100km with a mixture of hard city driving and highway. Pretty happy whenever it sneaks in under 10, usually right on the 10-10.5 mark for mainly stop start driving.

Just did a Brisbane - Coffs Harbour return trip at 7.5 l / 100km. Was able to fill up with Shell 95 at Tugun at Qld prices and make it back there (650km) without being too scared of running out of fuel or having to contribute to the NSW Treasury.

Cruise control on 90% of the time, wipers on 90% of the time, demister/aircon on about 50% of the time. Tried to keep the cruising speed to 110ish, but a little higher in some overtaking lanes when weather permitted.
