Default Pod Filter

hey guys,

Before i say anything yes i know it not the best to have a pod just sat in the engine bay, and the heat from the engine is bad and all that,
BUT

WOW the noise is fantastic!! it really make a noise and as for the open pod in the engine bay im going to make up a stainless steel intake pipe and then make a alluminum box to surround it but at the moment im happy with the restult evan if it doesn't give me any more performance it sounds Great!!.

make your own box how hard is it!! extend that pipe with pod to behind headlight furthest away from engine then build over the top it. Why pay hundreds for plastic.

If you have the skill, why not. Whilst he is at it, he could weld up an exhaust.

Your right it will sound fantastic BUT it won't be efficient, the worst thing you can do in this case is have HOT air blowing into your induction especially when the thermo fans come on.....that's when you see inlet temps rise sharply.

Get that thing covered ASAP man.....

well accually i will be making it, and a intake pipe as well, im thinking of alluminum box as the heat should not be retained in the alluminum. and it will suit the color mmm Lightning strike!!

and accually i have thought about making up my own exhaust and getting muffelrs from VPW and doing the piping. But i think it willbe easyer to just get a difillipo cbf factor is very high in this case.

Dead right mate, it's good to be different and do your own thing but you can't go past a product that continually comes out on top in the POWER and sound department.

Being a Di Filippo agent and a sponsor of this club we can do a deal.

Cheers Craig

Cheers mate, yes thats why i really don't want to go any other way from the results the produce, btw i t was me who rang up today about the Throttle body spacer, and after talking to chris i felt it wasn't worth it as in the end i want to supercharge my car and it is really dead money then.

If you know what you are doing go for it!! One of my good mates must have made 6 or 7 exhausts for his XF. He could never get the note right and had quite a few issues. In the end he just bought and tired and tested system.

Lol! Looks great, but I do think you should smooth it out. Maybe not right down, but a little bit...

Last time I made some custom kick panels out of fibreglass, got some bog and put it over the top, sanded it back and got nice smooth finish!
