Default BluePower's 3.6LC KB Coyote

Here's a sneak peek of what's to come in 2015 for our Kenne Bell fans,
This is our KB kit for the Aussie 5.0's, all 3.6LC of it !!!!!

Car pictured is FPV FG 5.0L GS Manual ute with Forged crate engine from Herrod Motorsport/ Ford Racing, Topped with our 3.6LC Kenne Bell Aussie kit, Di Filippo Big Boy System, Custom Fuel System, SPEC Clutch.

No cutting of the car was required and we have had to work hard to make this monster fit under the factory bonnet.

This is just a quick tune on Pump 98 fuel to see the how well this kit will go on BP98. Perhaps we will see 550 plus with a setup that most people use E85 on. Party time.

Not bad, am sure it's a good kit but good luck getting over the pits, coz you will definitely cop yellow sticker if a cop sees under the hood
By now am sure they know what a Miami is supposed to look like...Just saying...

We currently don't have a price on the kit as there is a few items that have to be custom made to suit Aussie Coyote setup.
We have another 3 cars waiting to get the same kit fitted and once they have been done we will have more of a idea and hopefully the dollar gets better by then..

Will the kit come with a blanket Australia wide FGX XR8 / GT - ADR approval?

If not you really should consider it.

I know of one local tuning shop here in Perth that has done it for the Holdens. Drive in stock, drive out with a big SC, get huge HP gains, and the best part they are 100% legal and certified.

From my experiance trying to stay legal and get indiividual cars tested for emmissions and met all requirements gets very expensive, very fast.

Great project!

We are not really interested in crash testing cars to get a ADR approval..

Are you getting confused with ADR Emissions.. any car running E85 would pass easy

Since the engine has done 300km we have completed the street tune for this vehicle. Still 20 Psi and on 98 Pump fuel.

By far this is the best performing kit on the Miami/Coyote 5.0. 581Kw / 779Hp on 98 - If other combo's are anything to go by, this setup on E85 will be nothing short of frightening.

Yes I was refering to the ADR Emissions of the supercharger kit.
I believe a company like yourselves can get a blanket Emissions Certification for an individual car model / year(s).

You can then provide this certification so the buyers of your kits do not have to go through the process individually.

I am not sure if the certification would only apply to drive in / drive out installs or for the kit itself.

But like I said I do know of a local shop here that will do 100% legal SC install - they are drive in / drive out deal.

I also know the last time I looked into getting a SC setup made legal that I installed myself it was a long drawn out expensive exercise. But IMO it's better to be legal than to get into an accident, then get your insurance dropped on some technicality ( like having an illegal non certified SC install ) and then pssibly be liable for unlimited $$$. That would ruin most peoples days.

Whether one chooses to stay legal or not is an individual decision.

From your reply, I assume the answer is no.

I was just curious so if I buy a kit one day I know the next step forward. That is to get emmissions certification after the install.
All good.

Great results :-)

Great work fellas!

Awesome power on 98! Although the bench mark has already been set by a couple of utes..

Can't wait to see what the kit does at the track!

Corey this customer has no intentions of drag racing this car.. Just side by side power skids with you one day.

The bench mark set was more for the rest of the cars we do mate.. your car is still up there for what you have achieved yourself.

No worries Theo, I miss interpreted bench mark to all other cars.

I wasn't referring to Barry's ute directly when I said "can't wait to see what the kit does at the track" kit as in I hope one of your customers that fits one of these 3.6s has a crack down the 1/4.

Never the less great results so far.

Cheers Corey

That kit in WA would need full Chassis Engineering, Brake tests (That I think it would fail given the amount of grunt you have to push though the brakes) and emmissions test (E85 no prob as I did)
My ute is fully engineered BUT at a low power level to avoid very costly chassis engineering.
To certify in WA just run E85 and DETUNE the hell out of it for a LA2 permit (There are no roadside dynos ) ...

NICE WORK BLUEPOWER!!!

So what line is crossed that requires engineering?

Is it whenever you swap out the original blower, and you are saying that some of the other kits still look a bit stock so you'll get away with it, or something else?

They do SC installs and will do all the SC emmision legalities for you if you want.
One catch is you must be running a stock camshaft.

I just talked to Tim, he said the emmisions tests cost ~ $800 nowdays.
It was closer to $3000 when I was looking into it some years back.
Bargain.

With respect 40gt, that will not give the car a blanket Australian design rule test approval on the output modification to the vehicle.

All it will do is ensure it is emmissions compliant. And just for your reference, current 5.0 coyotes in STOCK format have failed these tests after some 50,000klm, and struggle to pass with cold catalytic converters on startup.

It certainly has set the bar Corey, for anyone with a hot street coyote......

As you will remember early in our discussion we were always so confident in the coyote platform with big time aftermarket mods, hence our recommendation to you to "drop" the Boss, and head to where the wild things are.......

The hard work has been done by Ford Racing and Kenne Bell here, and the challenge here was to see how much power for how much dollar.

So, forged motor, blower kit, 98 pump, what are the numbers???

Coyote presents many challenges for us mate as many people cannot justify the 10-12k for a Kenne Bell kit on stock coyote engine when for the cost of a YT snout and pulley you are in the high 400's without the need for forging an engine.

When that next step needs to be taken, we went to our customers to ask them what they wanted in a kit, and if people ponied up for a KB, the overwhelming response was, 3.6, and, sit it on top, like the good lord intended.

Will people want to buy something like this? Yes, if they want lots of leg room for power.

Are people justified in wanting to put a snout on a stock coyote with an intercooler? For sure, much cheaper than 2.6, and probably not far enough behind in power to justify the cost for many if they are going the whole hog.

580rwkw on pump gas? Exceeded my expectations by at least 30rwkw.

E85? to add 60rwkw would be conservative at this boost.

More boost? There is another 10psi left in the head unit, when we get out setup sorted for our own sedan, we will see what is really capable of.

Block strength? Have seen some failures in the US, we'll keep our eye on it however we have taken steps to assist us in reliability.

Racing something like this? This is a daily street ute for our client, the car is heading back to its owner in WA shortly, where the shop over there will take over the tuning and maintenance of the vehicle. If the owner wants to race it, we will assist him in achieving the best ET possible. There is no doubt looking at the numbers that this kit will exceed anything that a 2 litre class blower can achieve by weight of power output alone.

Will it keep up with a 4.2 Corey? of course not. But, if any Pump gas 98 octane Coyote wants to back up on our dyno for some comparisons, we'll always have the kettle on and the tim tams handy.

Hope your well mate, and great results from your car are inspiring!

Chris
