Wow. The driver of the ferarri could not have survived that, contrary to the caption on the video.

Damn, very nasty. If he survived then he's a lucky bugger.

That is pretty damn gruesome and the camera seems to be focused on the Ferarri engulfed in flames for a long time without any noticeable movement in or around the car. I guess his nomex suit paid for itself right there!

I didn't realise Ferarris had door-mounted fuel tanks!

Damn, that's a big hit! Only a Valiant could drive away from something like that...

I haven't actually clicked the link, but I am assuming it's the car going up in flames in some Japanese race, a very graphic accident IIRC.
The worst motorsport accident would have to the Le Mans one in the 50s (I think), it involved a car flipping and the wing flying off and decapitating over 50 spectators, I think the death toll was huge in the end. I'm sure there's something on the internet about it, but I can't be bothered trying to find it now, but it would have been shocking.

How on earth could the Ferrari driver have survived that?
Even a suit wouldn't withstand those kind of temps...would they?
You couldn't see the drivers side, but the passenger side was pretty stuffed!
Anyone with 'proof of life' on this guy?

read my earlier post.
go over to FF.COM (not .au) and find the original posting of this video.
there should be a link to a report/article about it.
as i mentioned, he DID survive and also got compensation. something to do with the marshals and the track owner or something.
ICBF looking and since i know for a fact he survived, im not going to bother to look for it either.
if you dont believe me, then you can find the info yourself.
