Default Road Service Providers - NSW

I’m resigned to taking on road service for Povo Ute, it’s predecessor (AU XR6) made use of this about once a year... Most of my concerns revolve around rural service; enough towing to be realistically useful.

The cheapest for my situation would be “Motoring 24-7” which I hadn’t heard of until trawling the ‘net. It’s allegedly a subsidiary of AWA (not to be confused with AWN).

What I’m wondering particularly is how they achieve practical rural coverage. Does the NRMA etc just sublet to them?

Spoke to a rural chap with industry experience.

NRMA will not send liveried vehicles to other providers' clients outside of their two-way public relationship with RACQ/RACV/RACT etc. A tilt tray that subcontracts to the NRMA and is not liveried, may attend on behalf of another provider - but it comes down to the individual contractor. So yes, there is appreciably less certainty with the second string road services outside suburbia.

I asked what might be the likely outcome if I popped a CV in Stockinbingal near midnight on a Saturday. "Try it and see" was the response. I think in a situation like that you might be better off with Tinder...
