My friend's mum has a 2005 Focus 2.0 auto; I think it's a base model; my friend says that the owner's manual does not say how to turn the lights onto hi beam ... can someone tell me how it is done?
Also: is the oil filter a 'normal' spin-on (by hand), spin-off filter? Or is it inside a cover that has to be unscrewed first, with the filter then being detached from inside the cover? (They live in the country, so I can't just go and have a look at it.) |

High beam is turned on by pulling the left hand lever on the column (the blinker is on the left on these, wipers on the right) towards you and again to turn off.
Normal oil filter on these, not the element that sits inside a plastic housing. I have a 2006 LT Focus 2.0 Petrol Auto. |

Another question: what sort of washer goes on the sump plug for the Focus? Would it be an aluminium crush washer? Something else? Something that can be reused? I am trying to get him prepared for when he changes the oil and filter. Thanks in advance ...

When I search that part number, I am not clear if the correct part is the black rubber one with a thick outside edge to it, or an aluminium crush washer. (At Burson's today: their part number is for an aluminium crush washer.)

Solved. I had the bright idea of going to Bayford in Greensborough. The parts man gave me one, which was nice of him. (the rubber type) Will post it to my friend today.
