Default Electrical Dilemma

Hey Guys,

So every time it comes to night time and i turn my lights on, the car will just completely turn off. I've been driving down the highway with them on and all of a sudden it just completely stops working and won't start again?

When the lights are turned off it starts fine.

It seems to be more likely to occur in wet weather, I'm assuming it has something to do with leaking heater bubble (which I know has rusted out) and water getting behind the dash perhaps?

Any suggestions, or is this something I should take straight to the auto elec.?

Sounds like its time to run the high and low beams direct from the battery via a couple of relays. Its a simple job, very effective and takes the electrical load off dodgy connections and switches.
