try owning a 4cl Ford. then tell me how much you feel like nothing.

4cl dont even get a mention in ANYTHING> always 8's and 6's... never 4's.

we'll going by the responses it would appear that having 10 or so incuding all the diverse sub forums on a rotation would be the winner then

That won't happen. In case you didn't realise it is the same script as the Ford logo.

Good idea in theory but raises a few issues.....

* what do we do with the merchandise already made and paid for that has the current logo on it?

* how do we make more merchandise if there's 10 different banners?

* same deal with all the advertising material, tents etc etc.

Simple solution, leave it as it is and get over it.

Maybe when the merchandise is running down, look into this again.

Looks like an overwhelming majority would like a change though.

Yeah, no brainer that!
The fact is, it looks tacky on car windows, I would like to help promote our forums, but there is no way i am putting a sticker like that on my cars.
I might play with a few different designs and see if anyone likes them.

I agree, its the only reason I haven't brought one. Its a bit...drab. Could do with being a bit more modern/funky/professional.

It doesn't really need a change, and the banner on the site is fine, just the stickers.

I like the current one actually, it is sybolic and unoffensive.

However, I voted yes because I actually think it would be fun and interesting to see what sort of ideas people came up with.

An all new (or heavily revised) Falcon only comes around every 10 years or so. So why not celebrate Orion's arrival next March with a new logo? Changing it at this very moment seems a little pointless with the new model just around the corner.

I'll support change when Orion comes as others have suggested, provided you keep an AU in there :P

I only skim-read the thread so apologies if its been suggested, but how about moving the banner to the right a little, and then have a couple of the four-pot Fords on the left and the beasts on the right or something - with the FordForums.com.au writing centred.

Make all the suggestions you want but I reckon they better be really convincing...

The way I look at it is that the only votes that really matter on there at the moment:

Laminge-No
russellw-No

That's 2/5 of the directors, the others haven't voted.

This isn't a democracy, it is a business.

Shall we compile a list of all the cars suggested already to see how many 'should' be on there?

Why doesn't someone design a new one to show everyone how to get 20 odd cars on a banner? Or even a few cars which everyone (or at least a majority) of people would support... Good luck.

There are many more places where the logo would have to be changed, it won't just be on the forum and on merchandise. For example I will have to change all the places where I have the AFF logo in my club magazine. How many other people would have to know it has changed. A lot of work to please the 73 people out of 34,000+ members. I would assume other active members that haven't voted don't care because they can all see the thread and can vote if they have a view either way.

i dont care if it changes but theres a poll and atm is purely one sided and last i heard the members are whom make this place what it is,and without that it doesnt exist,so far 2/3rds reckon its time for a change, and thats based on whom does care,if those who havent answered dont vote then they dont care if it does change meaning,THEY DONT MATTER!

thats right its about convenience i forgot.

Don't get so antsy! :

It may exist because of it's members but...

102 votes (0.3% of entire member base)
76 YES votes (0.23% of entire member base)

It is hardly an overwhelming figure.

I looked at the number of members who have been online since the thread was started, lets call them 'current active members' (which is very very conservative I would say within the last week would be a better definition, but that doesn't matter for my point)-approx 3000 members have been online since 11-08-07.

102 Votes (3.4% of 'active' members)
76 YES votes (2.53% of 'active' members)

(remember these are the people who would definitely have the opportunity to see the thread title, view the thread and vote on the poll)

With more member support perhaps, but at the moment (unless a viable alternative is given) I am just saying I don't see it happening, so don't get your hopes up and unknot your knickers :P .

I like it as it is, so I voted. I suppose it could be better, but I don't see it as pertinent to my forum 'experience'. It had nothing to do with convenience. In reality it will take me 5 minutes to update what I need to, but it is about informing all that carry the existing logo.

Logistically, changing a logo for a business has to be a very considered move. How often do other businesses change their logos?

My 'valid point' (svo347) is that I am one of many people that will have to change something outside of this forum if the logo changes.

This thread wasnt about what cars to put on the logo.

It was about possibly changing it. Yes or No.

As directors of a company, they should give the punters what they want.

But the next obvious question is, What to change it to?

The people who say they want it changed, most probably have something they would like. This is obvious in the responses AND in your initial post! You make suggestions yourself so it has in turn become a thread about what people want their instead.

At best 2.53% of the 'punters' want something.

I am not saying it wont happen, but look at the real figures not the 75% on the graph. It is about the bigger picture.

Yes the NEXT question.

And if it were decided TO change it, then im sure logic would suggest people that have some talent run up some examples, then they are voted on.

there is 4.77% chance that 10% of the directors will have a 99% anti-logo change stance.
