Default Momo steering wheels

Does anyone have any good prices for these steering wheels. I can get one off ebay for $245, including postage - but no idea if that's a good price or not.

Yeah, I think that's pretty much the general price of them. I got mine for $220 but that was a second hand grey/black one which are pretty hard to find (or atleast they were up untill a few months ago when heaps of them started going on ebay)

Brad I remember when you got your's and I wanted the grey/black one baddddly and now there's a few of them on eBay except I'm not really interested in getting one now LOL but when I wanted one they were no-where to be found _

Anyway JCXR8 I reckon $245 (inc postage) is a pretty good deal.

I just realised that they are not "buy now" and 225 is the opening bid (plus 20 postage). So, I guess I might throw 225 on and see what happens. The buy it now ones are 275.

Yeah but they end up not selling. So many times the Auction finishes without a single bid but what I've noticed alot is that when you bid early, all of a sudden everyone wants it lol. If there's no bids on an item that I want then I snipe bid in the last 10-15 seconds - but that's me lol.

I might have to do that; leave it until the very end of the auction - good strategy.

That's a very good price. You're lucky. These days, price on these wheels start at a minimum $225. I've not seen any start at under that price for a while now. But still, if you can get it at $245 (inc postage) it's still a bargain. Though $175 is alot better lol.

Damm all this talk about the momo makes me want one again. JCXR8, just incase mate, you better PM me the item number of the wheel you're watching so that I don't snipe on the same one LOL :P

F_K - would you prefer a momo woodgrain wheel instead of the plain leather. It's what I have at the moment in the Forte. Only reason I want to change is the black/grey would look better. $200 including postage and it's yours if you want it - it's in as new condition. Then I can get the black/grey one without feeling too guilty about spending more money on the car!

That's the same wheel I have in the forte - but a much better price than I paid.

To be honest I don't like the woodgrain wheels as much as I do the grey/black ones BUT they're not too bad - I don't 'not' like them. It would suit my interior and I don't mind helping out a fellow forum member so I can live with a woodgrain wheel

Do you have a picture of it? Or is it the same as the one in the picture that buickman put up? As long as there's no marks on it and fits my cruise/radio buttons then no worries - you can consider it sold!

JC I'm VERY interested in the none yuo have, always wanted one for our Fairmont. My only concern is that you're a smoker arent you? Not meaning to insult but I dont want a wheel stinking of ciggies in our car.

Can you take some closeup pics of it for me please?

F_K & B2F - it's exactly the same as the one in the pic buickman put up. There are no marks or scratches on it. It fits the audio and cruise controls (you actually transfer them and the air bag over from your current wheel).

B2F - yes, I am a smoker, but this wheel is in the family wagon, which I am not allowed to smoke in because it carts the kids around. So I doubt it would smell. I am more than happy to wash it with warm soapy water, if that helps.

F_K - you posted your interest first, so I'll certainly give you first option. Is it OK if we do this like e-bay - you put the money into my account and I'll send the wheel when the funds are confirmed. I have bought/sold stuff from/to Casper, BlueAU and Aussie_Pete if you need reassurance that I am honest. PM is on it's way.

B2F, if F_K doesn't take it, then it's all yours, as long as you still want it.

Ford should do it for between $30 & $60. I can remove the steering wheel, change over the audio & cruise controls, backing plate and airbag and refit it all in about 15 to 20 mins, so Ford should do it in the same sort of time. Definitely no more than 1/2 hour's labour - get them to quote up front and then make them stick to it.

Well Ford said I'll be charged the minimum 1hr so that's $97.50 then I rang a local place here and that guy said $100 because it's (according to him) "a very tricky and hard job to do atleast an hours work maybe more luv" _

I'd take it to my mechanic but don't really want to drive all the way to Moonee Ponds just to have this fitted. I'll keep ringing around - try and find someone local.

The blokes that first did mine were a second hand car dealer who also had a workshop. I went in and told them I wanted a steering wheel swapped over - how much? It cost me a case of beer, and took them 15 mins tops. Just enough time for me to walk to a bottleshop to buy the beer. So maybe try some car yards that deal in late model fords. The job's not hard, but it does require a 5 pointed torx bit - most torx bits are 6 sided.

I'd take it to my mechanic but don't really want to drive all the way to Moonee Ponds just to have this fitted. I'll keep ringing around - try and find someone local.
A tricky job rubbish. It took me about 10-15 minutes to do mine the hardest thing was pulling the wheel from the shaft & getting the special air bag removal tool. That alone cost me $30.
Ring a few wreckers that deal with late Fords over your way or panel shops & see what they charge to do it.

Yeah, it certainly is not a hard job to do. I fitted mine in 20 minutes, and that was WITHOUT the 5 sided torx bit lol.
