Hi I have a Au Ute that the bcm smartsheild has locked it out from starting
I’m asking if I replace the bcm ecm and key reader and key to another set will it start as long it’s a series 1 I’ve tried a series 2 and it’s not the same the Ute is a manual Thanks |

Needs to be 1.5 gear and the ECU is required as well.
Series 1 BEM won't work in a ute. I know from experience

Ok thanks was hoping to do a pats reset with scan tool to fix that problem

If you cant find a ute 1.5 bcm/ecm and key/column gear , sedan and fairlane ones will work. If you use these bits from a dual airbag car it will throw a code for the missing airbag if your ute only has one, thats about the only fault ive noticed running a fairlane bcm and ecu in a ute.
