Quote:
Microsoft has revealed a handful of new details for its upcoming Project Gotham Racing 4.

Admittedly, there's a handful of old details in there too - such as the fact PGR4 is set to feature an all-new career mode, updated kudos system, some dynamic weather conditions (that'll be light rain, more rain and upended ocean, if it's anything like London at the moment), PGR On Demand and a pleasant cruise through such delightful locales as St. Petersburg, Shanghai and Macau.

Microsoft is also promising a bunch of new screenshots lifting the skirt on PGR4's roster of vehicles, including those all-important cars and marginally less wheely motorbikes. Apparently, you'll find them on the official PGR4 news page, although the link doesn't work yet, so don't get too excited. Here's what's been announced so far!

Cars
Ariel Atom 300 Supercharged 2004
Aston Martin V8 Vantage 2005
Austin Mini Cooper S 1964
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 1969
Ferrari F430 2004
Caparo T1 2007
Caterham R500 2000
Lamborghini Gallardo 2004
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 2005
Tesla Roadster 2008

Motorcycles
BMW F 800 S 2006
Honda NR750 1992
Honda CBR600RR 2005
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 2007
MTT Turbine Superbike 2006
MV Agusta F4 Senna 2006
Norton 500 Manx 1962
Triumph Speed Triple 2005
Triumph Trident 2005

Microsoft has also confirmed that PGR4 will hit shelves in the UK on October 12 for around 44.99 GBP.
SOURCE

Hopefully that means AU launch around the same time also.
Not much has been revealed but it will be vastly improved over PGR3 and that game was pretty amazing.

There is rumoured to be over 300 cars and bikes in the final version.
(Doesn't sound like much compared to Gran Tourismo however PGR series
have always focused more on performance cars rather than several different
versions of grocery getters)

Nice intro, but I'll reserve judgement for ingame footage.

It looks quite sexual... but if the game play is anything like PGR3 I'm really not that interested... in that I finished all but the online play (to hard or hardcore level) in less than 2 weeks and that was during my lunch breaks at work (yes, we have 2 xbox 360s at work). If work buys a copy or 2 I'll have a go...

I finished PGR3 on platinum everything (platinum champion achievement)... and now I think Forza is much, much better.

I read somewhere that the Forza guys (Turn 10) and PGR (Bizarre) work together and share technology, so one team benefits from the work of the other. Hopefully this means we can look forwards to ever-improving racing games on the 360.

Hmmm I'll stick to Forza2 for the moment... I've always regarded PGR as an arcadey racing game. Not quite as bad as Crusin' USA but still nevertheless not terribly realistic.

Now if only they'd port GT Legends and/or GTR1/2 and put out a decent wheel with a clutch on the 360!

agree to all the above pgr3 was not challenging enough but did have some decent realism to the look inside and out of the cars and a really cool incar driving view whereas forza does not. Although forza dominates in the realistic driving simulator next to GT, i still think that pgr4 will be an awesome arcade driver game. Better than gt5 and forza 2?? well we will all just wait and see they may kick up the gameplay abit to be a little more challenging this time round.
