Hi Guys,
An introductory note. I've been involved with owning, fixing, modifying cars since before I could hold a licence in the mid 60's (the greatest decade by far!). I'm now a heavy transport design and certifying engineer in NZ. I also ride motorbikes and drive coaches. Presently I own an 07 turbo Ghia Territory, a 89 Hiace and a 600 Honda Hornet.

hey all,
been reading off an on for a little while. not an enthusiast, but my e-gas BA wagon seems like the ideal family car glad to have a place to ask questions and learn all about my ford.

thinking another e-gas BA or AU3 would be ideal for me as my daily runner, as well as to be a bit of a workhorse on weekends...

Hi all,
Have been away from this forum for a while,so thought I would catch up and thank everyone for their helpful info.
I was really pleased with the help I got in replacing the air mix shaft in my BA XT, I didn't know where to start before, but a few hours work and all was fixed.
Cheers,

Hi guys. Recently joined as I have bought an 05 BA mk2 6T. Love the car, so much potential.

Future mods include simple cooler and injector upgrade hoping to make 260rwkw. and before you say it, i know you can get more but not keen on cracking a perfectly good motor open to do valve springs. will sacrifice power for engine safety.

i look forward to many years of useful chatting with you lot.

Cheers
Eddie

Hi All, Just popped over from the Mustang Forum to ask an Escort question;- I have a 1970's 711M 1600 Escort? motor and gearbox, the gearbox has the following build tag on it, 75 AA AA, & below on the second line FNZ 6 F 24.

Can somebody please decipher this for me. I was thinking the FNZ has something to do with Ford New Zealand, bot maybe that is too obvious. All assistance would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Joined here recently after buying our first ford. Picked up a BA 03 wagon with green motor. Ask me 12 months ago if I’d be driving a falcon or commodore and I’d have answered “I don’t think so’, anyway must say the quality of the BAs is not that great after owning Toyota/s and Subaru/s.

The great content here however has allowed me to get the car to a much better state fixing some of those common faults.
New leather steering wheel installed, every BA we looked at had perished wheels.
Replaced gear shifter silver plate, hopefully the new one wont bubble too soon.
Swapped the front seat bases over, quite an easy job to do.
Fixed the non returning seatbelts, used wet and dry over the top return guide and they now return almost like new.
Water leak in the rear cabin was coming from the washer sprayer above the rear window, some silicon has fixed that one.

A couple of small issues left to fix,
Intermittent ABS light coming on, and
Slight noise from the cabin fan.

Overall, we’re actually enjoying driving the car which feels solid and enough power to tow the boat.
Michael.
