Falcon protest at Ford HQ

My first Falcon and first V8 was an XRGT. My last opportunity for a new one is the FGX XR8 and I can't wait. While we can argue about the best we can't argue about the first and last of a line (and yes, before the pedants attack, I know the Aussie XR was preceded by 4 other Falcon models and the GT by other '66-'67 XR V8s and the unofficial '65 Warner V8s). IMO the last will probably be the best though probably not the most charismatic of the noble line.

The FGX XR8 is being done for the enthusiasts and the best performing Falcon dealers. That some dealers are taking the **** is unfortunate but that isn't RRP from FoA. Am I unhappy that Ford is stopping production here....yes! Am I disappointed in missed opportunities...yes! Am I grateful the last of the line looks to be a cracking old school Aussie muscle car...yes! I'm not going to protest the unchangeable or celebrate the unfortunate. I will however give the last V8 a good workout just like I did the first and THIS time not let her slip away.....

Ford have given the fans the XR8 and they had the falcon fanatics launch. Are people literally too thick to understand that because of a collective of issues (NOT, just "Ford wanted to killed the falcon because *insert here__________) the hard decision was made to shut down manufacturing here, and nothing will reverse this

Like wise, advertising, yeah, might be nice, but what will it do? There are already waiting lists for some models, the Falcon is selling on its own. There are other products in the ford range that are more important to them at this stage, the Falcon wont keep showrooms alive, the likes of the Focus and Ranger will.


A protest of anything is laughable.

A get together to show the love of the product isn't. Any sort of meet should be to show how people appreciate what they have over the years.

Who was the XR8 built for?

That's exactly the Falcon I'd want to buy (if I could get it with cloth interior and I don't care about Sync).

If u read my comment u'll see I said protest/march or whatever as protest is the title of the thread.. I actually said would be good not to try change anything to create an awareness that there's still lots of loyal falcon fans out there n try get the falcon on the news in a positive way for one last time!

If you drive the competition you'll see that the competition still hasn't caught up. But yes, Ford hasn't put in the best effort to keep it at the top of the page.

Territory should have been taken forward and developed as one of Ford's global platforms, not replaced by something inferior from America.
