Default 2007 LT Focus Cruise Control

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone here knows if it is possible to retrofit factory cruise control to a LT Focus CL, i have been looking through the net, but can only find stuff about US models...

thanks,

Steve

Ask a sales person to find out if its a dealer option or factory option. If dealer, its most probable.

Its a factory option, but it used to be a factory option on a falcon and it could still be fitted afterwards, so I was hoping this is the case here too...

Well the cruise is part of the steering wheel so I'm not sure you could fit it afterwards, does the CL steering wheel still have the slots for the buttons?

not sure, but surely the steering wheel could still be changed altogether if required? As long as the loom is there for all the components...

Unfortunately cruise control comes only as a factory fitted option on the LT, so you cant get one put in afterwards from Ford.

You sure? I know that you can have cruise ftted to the LS Focus, I'm going to get it fitted to ours. They fit a new steering wheel with the switches on it (leather too) and then reprogram the car to know its got cruise.
The LT Focus isn't that different to the LS. Both have the same fly by wire setup, I can't see why you couldn't fit cruise to a LT after its built.

I have already enquired about it. Yes, you can have a cruise control fitted to a LS but i know for a fact you can't for a LT and ford just never released a new control kit for the LT.

Probably a different ECU coding...

I can't see tho why its not technically possible. I'd try a few different dealers perhaps. See what they say if you mention "money is not a problem"

Gents,

There was a wiring harness change on the LT I believe that Ford Aus wasn't expecting, hence why they don't have a kit ready. The LS kit most certainly DOES NOT fit into LT CL models. No idea on when it may be introduced if at all. I'll try to find out more.

thanks, keep us posted if you find anything out about a kit for the LT. Where was it that you guys were going to get one fitted to an LS, I was told by a dealer that they couldnt, but of course you never know whether to believe them! How much was it to get a kit for an LS?

thanks again,

Hursty

It was part of the smooth pack? I'm not sure if that was factory or dealer option though

If that dealer has the Ford Focus Options catalogue in their waiting room like ours, show them the Cruise Control Kit in it. LOL
Its about $700 fitted.

thanks boys,
made some enquiries of my own, I forget the exact figures now, but the LS Focus Kit is a bit over $500 parts only. And they confirmed what you have said, that there is currently no LT Focus kit. Ford themselves were useless, I sent them an email, and all he repied was "We can advise that cruise control cannot be fitted after the vehicle has been manufactured".

Anyway, here's hoping there's one on the way, otherwise I'm gunna have to go with the regular aftermarket cruise kit with the cable on the pedal trick...

So can anyone confirm if the CL LS Focus has the wiring harness installed, just not connected due to the steering wheel not having the switches?
I fitted an LX wheel to my CL sedan for the leather as I hated the plastic base wheel. I just blanked out the switches so you don't actually notice that there are switches there.
I tried to get one of the US kits that includes a new leather clad wheel, but they had sold out in the US.
