Default MKii focus

I just bought a new Tango coloured 2010 LX MKII for the missus. (I have a Ranger). This car is awesome. Typical Ford motor with plenty of grunt just off idle. It handles superbly and performs well. So impressed with all the features for such a low price. These cars are so under rated.

We just added a set of Incubus Paranormal 18 X 7.5 wheels with 225/40/18 tyres. We bought them from Tempe tyres. We are in WA and ordered them last Tues and they were on our doorstep Fri afternoon. That is excellent service IMHO. The wheels have really given the car a lift and Tempe are going to add our car to their Ford gallery. If I could work out how to post a pic I would put it up.

We also have the MKII rims for sale. Look like the XR5 rims but are 16s not 18s. See here:http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-V...AdIdZ270610972

Tempe Tyres are pretty good to deal with, got mine from them about 18months ago too!

open up a photobucket account, or any photo hosting account, upload it there and link it using the mountain piccie on the top of the text box!

Show us how she looks!

Sorry mate, they have sold. I can't edit that post for some reason as there is no edit tab at the bottom. Anyone know how I can remove the gumtree ad?

Edit function disappears a certain amount of time after your post is made (I think its 10mins from memory).

You've said in thread that they're sold so hopefully no one else will mention it, either that or a mod will need to edit your post to get rid of it for you.

Focus looks good by the way, welcome to the ranks!

Don't think you could go wrong with the Focus. My wife loves her car and I find myself driving it a fair bit.

Lower and side skirts will make it look a bit tougher again. Anyone know where to get skirts from. Ford quoted me $500 each, then they have to be painted. I did ask for XR5 ones though. Prob should've asked for Zetec ones if there is any difference.

It is a well designed car, but unfortinately where it is made - South Africa - has deterimentally affected builld quality. Mine has done just over 4000KM and have had the following warrant work done:

1) New tires as the original had severe flat spots
2) Complete gearbox (auto) rebuild to investigate unusual shift noises. Still does it, but so did another one I drove, so maybe they all do it???
3) Driver and rear passenger doors incorrectly fitted causing panel & paint damage - fixed
4) Power steering system caused the car to wander - recently fixed (the rack was incorrectly fitted to the sub frame)

Emerging problems include:

1) ABS module is making unusual wooshing noises when first driving off
2) Rear suspension is starting to make creaking noises
3) A distinct knocking noise from the front right when corning hard to the left

So as I say, a great car on paper, but in practice it's rubbish.

Yep well have a 2006 CL. Just clicked over 100000kms. Do you know what has gone wrong with it? Nothing not even a blown bulb. Based on what I have read on this forum I expect the alternator to crap out soon and the clutch seesm heavy compared to my TDCI.

Also have a 2008 TDCI , that had flat spotted tyres -2 replaced under warranty , going in soon for minor rust repair under warranty, and has blown 1 headlight bulb, that is on 56000kms.

Yours must have been built on the wrong day.

How can a 4 speed auto work effectively with a 4 cylinder motor?
Very dated.

I was thinking the wrong country. Were your cars made in Europe? I hear the build quality is poles apart. Mr dealer confided in me that their entire fleet of LX's have build quality issues. I went out in the customer service manager's LX and it had the same issues as mine.

Sounds like a monday or friday car, Luckily my car has never given me any dramas, touch wood.

The only thing that has happend is a blown headlight bulb. Its an 06 LS with 95,000kms & recall on the printed compliance plate label.

I drive it most weekends from Bathurst to Sydney & back, plus the odd trip to Melbourne, & have done a few track days in it.

Mu mum also has an '04 LT & Dad has an '06 LS & both have never had any dramas. So there not all bad.
