Default clear side repeaters

Just got off the phone to a stealership up here and they were telling me that the clear side guard indicators are different between the mont/lane and forte/futura/xr and that S2/3 won't fit a S1..whats up with that?

as far as i knew a side indicator from any S1, 2 or 3 would fit any model?

$19 each as well..

I always thought there were 2 types of AU clear repeaters around.

1 with the orange bulbs

The other with clear bulbs, but an orange dome inside the clear repeater.

The second, clear with orange dome, is an aftermarket version so you don't have to change the lamp

series 2 came out with them, same as the orange glboe in the headlight covers

series 3 were the only full clear side indicators

Your also wrong, but in a way right. My Series one came with clear indicators, orange bulbs, and clear tailight indicators. Im sure there has been a thread on this a long time ago, it seems that the series one fairmonts were a bit of a parts bin in some regards, odd bits on some cars, etc.
Like a Forte gets adjustable seat belt height, while the fairmonts didnt, some engine bays were colour coded, some wernt, etc etc.

I am positive that the series 1 fairmonts got the clear lense with the orange sleeve.

i think the side markers (the ones that go in the side of the front guards) are being confused with the actual headlight assembly, with the indicator in it. the only options for side markers are au1/2 orange, au3 clear, were the way they came from the factory.

i'm pretty vague on what the 'monts and 'lanes have, but i have clear fronts, sides and rears all with perfect orange bulbs. nothing shtts me off more than people with clear lenses and clear bulbs for indicators. damn stupid people!

These are the only one's I have seen as you described, but as per my previous post, they are an aftermarket item.

All AU1 Ghias had the clear side indicators with orange in the plastic and I've seen a handful of AU1 Fairmonts with the same side indicators.

All the Series 2 Fairmonts I've seen had orange side indicators. Ghias had clear though once again.

Can't believe people actually buy after market ones, considering Genuine is about the same price.
