Reality is it's too early to complain about the cost, just find it determine the cause, then think about who else should contribute.

Too early?!! Its six months since it came down.

And it does not matter one iota whether it is found to be unrelated to the aircraft or not. Going by your reasoning, Australia shouldn't be paying either, being outside our waters.
