Future proofing is a great idea.
I bought my system in 2003 and it is still going strong. I expect the amp to last for another few years. It has no HDMI in or outputs, which is a shame, but I didn't see them when I bought that. Bit of a drag, but I've worked around it.
You should expect 10+ years about of your system, so invest in the best you can afford with the ability to add extra stuff without having to upgrade the AVR.
