LED sidelight bulbs for MB

I expect MA and MC also.
Has anyone fitted LED bulbs? I would like something brighter than standard as the light is useful after unlocking the car at night.
There seems to be little clearance though and I'm not sure if the socket would hold a longer, heavier bulb securely.
