Finally got around to playing with this. I think it's useful and cool. Below is a graphical representation of the button sequence, with second count, in case that helps someone. Why it had to be so complex is beyond me.

I would like to try and show the modes in a clearer, more print-friendly format, like a table, but can't see how to do that.
