This is common on some of the slower selling imports. Have a look at some of the Chinese cars, like MG for example.
I remember in the 80s, some of the expensive Mazdas & Hondas were nearly 3 years apart.
The built is the day the car was completed at the factory. The compliance date is the day it leaves the bond storage point in Aust.
