I remember 2003 around here very well and now live much closer to the threat than I did back then.
A fire started from a burnt out car last year and even though it was quite far away, all it would take is a strong breeze and it would light up like crazy. I just packed my **** ready to go. Not even entertaining the thought of staying and trying to fight a fire around here.

Remember that one well, we left the Victorian high country fires a day earlier thinking we will go somewhere safer and stayed at EPIC in Canberra.
Bad mistake.
