I haven't had great success with Ultimate Compound either. I have heard others have had some good results, so I'm glad its not just me not particularly impressed with it.
As Express posted, have a look at Menzerna Polishes too, they are top notch. My polisher came with selection of Menzerna products and I liked the results achieved from them.
