Nah, they have a lot of wearing surfaces and consistency of lubrication is paramount. Large bores with squirters, the oil pump is gear driven and also spins two balance shafts, turbo oil feed a bit on the shy side from what I’ve seen too. Underlubricated, they will pick up bearing metal in the balance shafts and unravel from there.
