I don't agree with some of your posts on this matter but this point is absolutely right. I learned the hard way....

Whilst not a truck it was a massive lifted 4wd who swerved at very last second at high speed, as clearly wasn't concentrating/watching the road.

Only crash I've ever had and whilst my distance to him/her at speed seemed fine, the lack of not knowing a car broken down dead stationary on a highway left me nowhere to go, as car on right and railing on left.

Bang. Car written off and person in car had minor injuries but otherwise lucky.

I no longer follow large vehicles where possible, or sit a long way back, due to this experience.
