I can agree with slow bikes off the line at the traffic lights (and don't start me on gutless step-thru scooters) but they are the minority - most bikes will get away far quicker than most cars.
When there's 2 lines of 30 cars each, crawling up a hill at no more than 10km/h, letting the guy (legally) slip up the middle isn't doing any harm, yet some choose to deliberately position themselves there - occasionally as blatant as swerving out to the line markings when they see a bike in the side mirror.
It's the bikers who go up the gutter/shoulder who should be stopped.
